Over the last couple of days the boys have been doing that home ed classic, making PH indicator paper with a red cabbage. First we boiled the cabbage in purified water, then dropped a little of the purple water onto cut up coffee filters and let it dry.
Then we used it to test various liquids to see if they were acid or base. It worked well, alhamdulillah and we got some strong colour changes.

I'd never heard of using cabbage like this. dournI expect the boys enjoyed this a lot more than if they'd had to eat the cabbage!
Actually red cabbage is their favourite vegetable!
