I heard on the radio this morning that some head teachers would be boycotting SAT tests for 11 year olds today on the grounds that the tests narrow the curriculum, cause stress and produce "teach to the test" style lessons.
Had my sons been in school it would have been their turn to sit those tests today too.
But, no SATs here......wooohooo!

M is doing the national tests at the moment, but it's not such a big pressure here. The things they do are similar to what they'd be doing anyway, just on A4 paper rather than in their books. Still it does seem to take time from the teacher to do what they want.
