Winter Day Out

We've been to visit the ss Great Britain. It is a great visit for children as the ship has been reconstructed and dressed to show how it was when it was in use. The most shocking thing is the size of the bunks, narrower than a modern baby cot! I remember the ship when it was a rusting empty shape! Nothing like that now!
This is The Matthew (a replica), the ship in which Cabot sailed to Newfoundland in 1497.
Imagine facing the Atlantic in that!

It was freezing cold, but we arrived at opening time and had the place almost to ourselves for the first hour of our visit.
